Goodbye Blog!

The blog is a good way to learn English, because it is a different method to work. We work and learn having fun and also we learn to use new technologies like computers and Internet.
Clearly, I have bad opinions too, but they are not too important. For example, the blog needs much time, because we have to do works and sometimes it coincides with the exams in class. Another negative thing is that we have only three hours a week of English and the blog is one of the days. Usually we need more classes to understand a lesson, so we do not have much time for this.
In spite of that, I think that it has been a very good experience and I have learned a lot (of computers too). I would like to continue doing that!!

See you soon!

A strange Saint George’s day

As every Saint George’s day, I was in my favourite bookshop. I was searching for a book for me, because I did not have anyone to give it. The bookshop was so large and I did not find any interesting book, so I asked the bookseller. He looked into my eyes and he said: “Come with me”.
We entered to a little room full of novels. He went directly to a book, he took it and he gave it to me. He said: “This book is really good, but you have to take care and you must not lend it to another person”. I promised it to him, I took it and I went home.
When I was in my home I left the novel on the table of my room. When I returned the book was on the floor. I said to myself that it was too strange, but I decided to start reading the book. When I opened it, it happened something really strange.
I do not remember why but when I woke up, I was in a castle. Many people were crying. I went to the door of the room to hear better the voices. They were crying for the princess. The princess was with a big monster: a dragon. The dragon was going to eat her. Immediately after hearing it I opened the door and I started running.
I already knew the story. The people who were crying saw me and they were so surprised. I did not care because I had a clear objective: finding Saint George.
I took my mobile phone and I found his name. I pressed the “Call” button. “Oh, no! The answering machine. Oh, I know what happens; he does not have mobile phone!” I laughed at myself. I stopped running to think about what to do. “Where can I find him?”, I though. “Okay, he might not go to save the princess, maybe I have to save her.”
I ran another time until I found a cave. In this story I was so brave! I imagined me fighting with a monster. I came to the cave carefully. When I was in the cave I did not see anything. It was so dark! But I heard a roar, and then I felt a big, big hand taking me. It was the dragon! I was scared but I felt brave at the same time.
When I though that it was my last breathe, I heard a voice that made the dragon leave the cave. Saint George!
He did not kill the dragon. He told off the monster. It looked down embarrassed, it left me on the floor and it entered again to the cave. Later, Saint George gave me a rose. “I am the princess?”, he took my hand and we returned to the castle.

The curious case of Benjamin Button

The curious case of Benjamin Button is a story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, published in 1922. David Fincher made a cinematographic adaptation which was starred by Brad Pitt.

The action is situated in 2005 with the Katrina Hurricane, and then we can perceive a Flash-back. The history of Benjamin begins in 1918 with the celebration of the end of the First World War in New Orleans. In that year was born a baby who was abandoned by his parents. A woman finds the baby and she adopts him and looks after him.

The protagonist is a man who was born with the appearance and the health of a person who is 80 years old. In the film we can see the life of Benjamin since his birth to his death, and we perceive that he is rejuvenating in the passage of time.
The old clock of the station symbolizes the life of Benjamin, because this watch is special: it works contrary to the other clocks.

When we watch the movie, we do not pay much attention to the case of Benjamin, because we see his life as a normal life. I like the film because Benjamin is happy all the time even though his “problem” because he measures the happiness with the little details that make our life unique.
